Built by W.H.Thomas in Falmouth in 1906 as an auxiliary yacht, she was one of the first boats to be built with a motor and “ sparks” for lighting the cabin. After being the joy of many owners during her first forty years of life, her sailing history is somewhat obscure and she was found abandoned and wrecked in Glasgow in 1998.

Rescued by ISCA and transported to East Anglia her re-build has been completed by G.Brown & Son, in Southwold, Suffolk and she was re-launched on 21st August 2001.

A very strong construction of oak frames and teak planking strapped with iron floors and knees, she is a sea worthy vessel, Marconi rigged as a gaff yawl, simple and handy to sail with a fine and deep hull that makes her light through the water.

Moosk features in an article of the Yachting Monthly July 1906 edition. In August 2003 a very good article came out on Traditional Boats and Tall Ships magazine.

It is interesting to mention that after this article appeared on TBTS, the granddaughter of one of the very first owners of Moosk, Mr. Robert Armitage MP of Leeds, contacted us and expressed the wish of seeing Moosk.

When Cara Frost-Jones came on board in the winter of 2003, she brought with her two books recording her family's summertime in the South of Ireland, mentioning the purchase of Moosk and some beautiful pictures of the family while sailing her.

From those picture and from Cara's tales, it is clear that Moosk kept all her character and most of her features, although her re-fit, brought along by Dominic Bridgman, was completely blind, in fact Dominic had to work without the original plans which have apparently since long disappeared.
